Course overview

This annual course is designed for Spanish-speaking students or learners with at least a B1 level of Spanish who want to learn Catalan progressively, practically, and with cultural integration. The goal is to reach B2 level in Catalan in 12 months, combining dynamic classes with city outings, social meetups, and cultural activities from BCNLIP UP’s “Barcelona Immersion” program, focused on getting to know the city and navigating it independently.

Who is it for?

Spanish-speaking people who have a good command of Spanish (minimum B1) and want to work, study, or integrate into Catalan life.

Barcelona Immersion Program

Includes cultural outings, social meetups, and cultural experiences to live the language from the inside.

Certification included

Final certificate of achievement once the student has met all requirements.

A convenient and effective format

Monday to Thursday with regular classes, and Fridays with practical cultural immersion in Barcelona.

Student visa

With this course you can apply for a language student visa from your country of origin, with our support for requirements and documentation.

Regular classes

Monday to Friday

Ideal for those starting with an initial or intermediate level of Spanish.

Schedule:

Monday to Thursday: 9:00–13:00, 13:30–17:30, 15:00–19:00 | Friday: 9:00–13:00

Friday

Practical classes and city outings with the Barcelona Immersion program.

Get to know the environment and practice the language in everyday contexts

Continuous assessment

Assessment is continuous: we look at what you do each day in class, your assignments, and weekly follow-up.

Daily work

There are tests, but your daily work and progress carry more weight.

Reports and recommendations

You will receive clear reports and recommendations to improve.

Real-life situations

We want you to manage real-life situations: understand, speak, read, and write confidently, live alongside people from different cultures, and organize your study.

Activities dossier

Portfolio with self-assessment tasks for each unit and extracurricular activities.

Class attendance

It is essential to attend in person at least 80% of the classes.
